The Xbox 360 is another one of my favorite consoles of all time. I had an alleged sister who worked at Target and I would bug her about looking for a console (since I couldn't find one at launch and the GameStop I pre-ordered it from didn't get many consoles in). I would change some of the lyrics to Xmas songs and replace them with Xbox. I purchased a bunch of games (both retail and digitally, but I also trade in a bunch of games - and bought numerous games for less than $20). I also got a bunch of games as gifts
I loved the achievement system and Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA). I am not really a big shooter fan, but I got a lot of shooters on this list. I am also not a fan of multiplayer and wish no achievements would deal with such activity.
Let's see... I have purchased three Xbox 360s. The first one died a something like 3 years 3 months after I got it (with heavy usage). Then I had to pay $100 (lame, it didn't red ring - the graphics card completely failed) to get a replacement unit. That unit lasted a while, but started to get slow and freeze (so i traded it in for credit). I pre-ordered a 360 4GB slim model when they were first available and bought a hard drive for it. Then I purchased another 360 4GB slim model since I was staying somewhere for a portion of the summer and didn't have access to my Xbox 360. So, I currently have 2 Xbox 360s (I didn't trade my consoles in this time). My first 360 S 4GB showed my its version of the red ring when a console update bricked it (corrupted firmware issue). I almost quit video games there, but after some consternation decided I had too much "invested" in the platform to quit.
I picked up the Xbox 360 from Fred Meyer in WA (so that is Eastern and Pacific time zones for Xboxes if you are keeping track). after seeing an message board post where someone posted that their parent who worked there had info about a new shipment.
