So what will I be doing on the day the Xbox One comes out?
* 6:30 AM - get out of bed
* 7:30 AM - Let dog out, go back to bed for an hour,
* 8:30AM or later: walk to Wal-Mart to purchase Play and Charge kit for $19.99, Zoo Tycoon and a 42oz bag of plain M&Ms (I have a $1.50 off coupon that expires soon)
- While on the way to Wal-Mart, stop at 711 and buy a few lottery tickets (telling myself that when I win and collect I will get all the Xbox One retail titles available in the US)
* 10-11AM take shower (not the whole hour just sometime between then)
* After that play Xbox 360 games for a couple of hours - maybe some more Banjo Nuts and Bolts (that game would be so much better without the stupid vehicles), Happy Wars or something else.
* 3:00 -5:00 PM: time to go to GameStop to pick up my pre-order. They better have it (and I would like it if it were a Day One edition. When I originally pre-ordered it they said it was). If they don't have my pre-order, I will briefly think about evoking the wrath of the gods and cancelling my pre-order. Then I would stop, remembering that I only paid $85 out of pocket for the console.
Why not earlier like midnight? I don't drive and I don't want to carry a 17 lbs. box 2 miles. So walking is kind of out of the question (that and it is supposed to be cold, and I can't see very well at night). I though about going the taxi route for a minute, but I hate new experiences like that.
* After that (the fun part):
- Unbox the Xbox One (thinking to myself that it would be just my luck that I would get a DOA console). Check for cracks, etc.
- Hook up the console. Firstly figuring out where to plug it in (my surge protector is kind of full).
- Cross my fingers as I turn on the console. Also hoping I'm able to connect online (probably through my wireless bridge, a pseudo wired connection. My Xbox 360 had issues connecting wirelessly)
- Let out a sigh of relief when it works and starts downloading the day one patch
- Stare at the clock and wonder aloud "when is this going to be done"
- Say to myself "about fricking time"
- Activate 14 day gold code and get Day One achievement (hopefully i'll get a Day One Edition)
- Start installing Ryse: Son of Rome (likely thinking "hurry up")
- Play Ryse: Son of Rome for the first couple of levels (or hours)
- Take a break to eat dinner (probably 6PM ish)
- Download Powerstar Golf
- Time to install Dead Rising 3 (wait.......)
- Now time to install Forza 5 (wait........)
- Play until 2 or 3 AM.
- Think about how I will have to wait until December to download Peggle 2.
Remember that I said that this will be my 3rd Xbox console and that they were all in different time zones. Yeah, I didn't think so. The original Xbox (awesome system) I got in Cincinnati (Eastern), The Xbox 360 I got eventually in WA (Pacific), The Xbox One will be purchased at some mystery place in the Mountain Time Zone.
