The Bottom Line:
Call of Duty 2 is an action shooter (mostly shooter, but with some action elements). This game was released in 2005 (but i just got around to playing it). Basically, you will play through 27 missions in one of three campaigns (Russian, British, American). This bascially has the feel of a generic shooter. It is first person, with a protruding weapon (which made aiming more difficult for me, the gun kind of get in the way). Sometimes the shooting reticule would seemingly vanish for no reason. i hand'nt played a shooter in a while (maybe that impacted my impression). No, i did not play multiplayer. This is my first experience with the Call of Duty series - and i didn't particularly like it
Grade: C-
What to Expect:
* Shooting stuff
* Blowing stuff up (some of the action elements involve using the X button to plant explosives)
* A few tank missions - that have so-so control
* Swarms of 1940s era Nazis to dispose of
* Ally AI that is not exactly brilliant
* Set in WWII (there are some Military channel video clips, that show their age)
* Basically three weapon types: pistols, rifles (including sniper) and machine guns
* Enemies that seem to like to spam grenades
How i Played:
Difficulty: Easy (i still died a lot)
Game Time: 12-15 hours, campaign (estimate)
Achievements: 200/1,000 (2/13)
Achivements:
There are 13 achievements in Call of Duty 2 for 1,000 gamerscore. The achievements are for finishing levels (usually on the hardest difficulty setting). This was an early era Xbox 360 game and doesn't offer the greatest variety in achievements.
