The Witcher 2 (Xbox 360): in progress

So, i picked up Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings today.  i have only beaten the prologue (on easy of course, and a couple minutes of Act 1) and i have already seen: nudity, decapitation and execution (hanging).  That is probably in the first two hours.

Overall, it currently looks like a decent game (probably a litle over-rated).  However, there are definitely things that i currently am not a huge fan of...

* QTE (quick time events) - yes there are timed button press events
* Timed dialog options - i didn't realize that they were timed until one was selected without my input (dog was jumping on me at the time)
* The battle system:  sure, the system may open up in the future or i may get more used to it - for now i am having trouble wrapping my head around it.  It currently feels a little awkward to me (the button selections, ect).  i guess the closest comparison is Dragon Age: Origins.
* "Stealth Section(s)" - there is a section towards the end of the prologue where you are escaping from a prison and lose your equipment (very early spoilerish) - the game wants you to sneak up on guards one by one and knock them out.  To help do this, you can extinguish torches lightling the area.  The hiding mechanic is a little bit hit or miss.  You can't take the guards on one-on-one or you will be swarmed by guards.  i probably died like 15 times on this section (on easy).  i hope this is a one and done.
* The Camera:  one of my common complaints this generation, the camera (like most) has trouble with short draw distances (like walls, corners, etc).  Narrow corridors/hallways never seem to work well with cameras.
_____________
* Arm Wrestling mini game: analog stick suck for some purposes (control-wise) this is one of them, keep a dot centered in a shrinking field
* Difficulty: This game is fricking hard - i hate a challenge.  i just got to the first boss Kayran.  To be fair (on Easy), i've only really found the stealth section in the prologue and the boss fight to be a pain so far.
* Multi staged boss fights with QTE - maybe there is a reason i don't typically like PC RPGs (well other than having inadequate PC specs).
* Thumbstick sensitivity - it sucks that you cannot change how responsive the game perceives the thumbsticks.  i think it would be better if you could make them less sensitive
* Potion Use: you have to use potions before battle, you can't use heal potions in the middle.  i really dislike this.

Unless the story kicks major posterior, this feels like a slightly above average game to me.  In other words, better than Risen/Two Worlds 2,  but not as good as the first Mass Effect - probably on par with the first Dragon Age game.
