Well, MSFT's E3 conference "keynote" is approaching again. This year it is slated for June 4th at 10:00 AM PST. So, what do i think will happen all the way in the future? Here is a nice list of guesses on things which won't happen (and maybe a few that will). These are all guesses, with limited basis in reality - so be advised. "Predictions" made on 4/16/12
My Horrible Guesses (and wishful thinking):
* Kinect Games
- Kinect Adventures 2 (wishful thinking)
- Kinect Sports 3
- Ryse (returns, hopefully with a 2012 release date)
- Kinect XBLA games
- Kinect Game from Rare
- Kinect Game from Frontier (made Kinectimals, Disneyland Adventures)
- Kinect Angry Birds
- Another Kinect game from Halfbrick (previously Fruit Ninja)
* Windows 8 Tablets/Gaming:
- Windows Tablets from Nokia, HP, ASUS and Dell (for release in Q4 2012) / priced at more than $250 (unfortunately, but prices won't be given). At least one will be an 11" convertible. No $249.99 Zune Tablet :(
- Xbox Live App Store (cross platform - Xbox 360, Windows Phone and Tablets)
- More info: cloud storage (increased usage of SkyDrive)
- Game Room for Windows 8 Tablets (i wish)
- Zune music/video for tablets
* Xbox 360 Miscellaneous:
- No new Xbox shown at E3
- New Call of duty game shown
- Add "free to play" games on Xbox Live (micro-transaction enabled) / Joy Ride in non-Kinect version
- Add an App store to Xbox Live (or rebranding a portion of XBLA)
- Add another couple of entertainment apps, expand "TV" offerings
- Zygna on XBLA (heavily hinted at)
- Halo 4 appearance (a given)
- New Forza offshoot (already rumored)
- Microsoft points - discontinued so they can "more easily" sell items to the phone and tablet markets (i like points and point cards)
- Xbox 360 can be used as a DVR (i wish)
- Kinect price cut: to $99.99
- Xbox Price Cuts: 4 GB ($149.99), 4 GB Kinect Bundle ($249.99), 250 GB ($249.99), 250 GB Kinect Bundle ($349.99) .... actually that wouldn't be a good deal for bunldes.
