Well, another E3 season is upon us. Another year to be disappointed. This year i was hoping for interested in Scalebound, Recore and hoping for Original Xbox BC.
i didn't like the unnecessary Orlando intro before the show.
There weren't many (or any) real surprises here (not just because everything already leaked). The central theme of the show was the Play Anywhere initiative (Xbox One and Windows 10). As someone who doesn't have a computer near capable of playing games on Windows 10, i'm not interested.
Phil Spencer walked on to the stage wearing a t-shirt with the original Xbox logo (what a tease), but it was not to be. Dang you Phil Spencer! Original Xbox BC would have been far more interesting to me than anything they announced/showed today
* Xbox One S - new slimmer white console Starting at $299 sometime in August. Now i have to look up what HDR is. Apparently there is no Kinect Port (lame)
* Gears of War 4 - looks ok, but it is not something i'm interested in. [XB1/Win 10]
* Forza Horizon 3 - this was probably the most interesting new game to me. It looks decent. However, if they keep that awful "road trip" career thing i will not be purchasing it. i think it releases on September 27 (not sure if it was that or 22nd, they sound kind of alike). Maybe i can get up to Forza tier 8 by then [XB1/Win 10)
* ReCore - i was interested in this, but i'm not sure now - some of the "platforming" elements showed were a little off putting for me. September 18 = price $39.99 [XB1/Win 10]
* The next three games were Final Fantasy XV, The Division (DLC?), and Battlefield 1
* Platform features - none of these interested me at all: Clubs, Arena (tournaments), and Looking for Group. Then again i hate multiplayer
* ID @ Xbox Sizzle Reel- i should find it somewhere since it went kind of fast
* Gwent card game - really, i couldn't figure out Gwent the one time i tried it in The Witcher 3. i guess people want it though.
* minecraft stuff - a bunch of multi-platform compatibility stuff (Android, IOS, Win 10, Console)
* Tekken 7 - the best thing about this announcement was getting Tekken Tag Team free (gold)
* Dead Rising 4 - this one could be interesting if they keep a bunch of things from DR3 - like on the fly crafting and not as much time pressure (time pressure is lame, especially in sandboxes), Holiday 2016 [Xb1/Win 10]
* Scalebound - my most anticipated title. i guess that is kind of gameplay (boss fight). i'm not sure what to make of it. i need to see more. Release date sometime in 2017 [XB1/Win 10]
* Sea of Thieves - As a single player guy, nothing they showed interested me. They made it look like completely multi-player (lame). Release date ?? [XB1/Win 10]
* State of Decay 2 - well, i never played the first one. This seems to be kind of an MMO-ish zombie survival game. 2017. [XB1/Win 10]
* Halo Wars 2 - not sure what to think about this one. The original Halo Wars was ok, but i am awful at it (RTS-ish). 2/21/17 [XB1/Win 10]
* Project Scorpio - this thing is going to be a beast (with a beastly price tag). 6TF (whatever that means), 4K and VR compatible.
