Time flies when you are looking back (when you live it, it seems to drag on forever).
Well, a year ago i picked up my Xbox One launch day console (bought with $420 or so in store credit from Game Stop). Let's see... at about 3:55 PM on 11/22/13. That was one heavy box. Some things have changed, some haven't.
Stats (per Xbox email:) (outlook will currently only load on my mini-tablet)
- Xbox One GamerScore: 11,160 (in the top 1%) - the 360 says 12,060 GS
- Achivements: 547 (in top 1%)
Let's see,
* The first game i played (i think): Ryse Son of Rome. It seemed to take forever to install (also the first game of the 5 i had at the launch window that i repurchased - though Black Friday is approaching)
* Anticipated games that i knew about at launch: Ryse, Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, D4, Project Spark, Quantum Break.
Ryse was my favorite launch game. Dead Rising 3 was better than i expected (after leveling up a little), Forza 5 was a bit of a disappointment (as was Horizon 2). D4, haven't played it yet. Quantum Break - not scheduled until at least 2015.
* Games i 1,000ed:
-Nutjitsu,
- Child of Light,
- Costume Quest 2
* Games that i have but haven't played:
- D4
- Crimson Dragon (GwG)
- Strike Suit Zero (GwG)
- Voice Commander
- Pier Solar
* My Kinect: currently plugged in but off (thought i would save it). My most used command was probably "Xbox Off", "Yes" anyway. i play a lot at late hours, so voice commands may not be the most appropriate.
* Annoyed the XBLA is now basically overpriced indie games (not a fan of the $15 or $20 price points). i could do without the revival of "hard" games too.
* Why can't i view achievements when not online? That is kind of lame
* I've traded in a lot more games than i typically do (for store credit): Ryse, Lego Marvel, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2. The lowest trade-in i've gotten so far was $26 for Ryse (all the other games were $30, except Horizon 2: $40).
* Time uttered a "curse word": way too many to count (and i hate difficult games). Guacamelee and Strider are probably each in the 4 figure range.
