Well, I was right that a lot of stuff wouldn't be announced at E3. So what did I think about the actual E3 this year?
I think last year's E3 was better (the actual presentation except the price announcement, not the lead up to the presentation). Last year saw games like Ryse, Forza 5, Quatum Break, D4, etc. This year's presentation just wasn't as interesting to me. Maybe it's because what I would like to see is not what others want. I guess i'll just have to win a very, very large lottery jackpot to make that happen
Anyways on to the show...
* COD Advanced Warfare: a shooter, who would have though. In a way it seems like if COD made a Halo game. Content priority deal (aka new content first on Xbox). Why do they always have Call of Duty demos that go on for too long?
* Forza 5: Nurburgring free track. I wonder why they had this at the E3 conference it is DLC.
* Forza Horizon 2 (EXC): could be interesting. Instead of Colorado, this one seems to be set in Europe (Italy, etc). They added drivatrs to this game. I'm not sure if that is a good thing (drivatars in Forza 5 were really big on trying to spin me out). Release date: September 30, 2014. If I have the money, i'll probably buy it (though I did get the original Horizon for $15, I think) *
* Evolve: another shooter. This one apparently lets you play as the monster against the evil humans or as the evil "space marine" humans. New Content first on Xbox One
* Assassin's Creed Unity: another demo that went on a little long. In this one you can play with up to three other players (4 in total) to kill people around the French Revolution.
* Dragon Age: Inquisition: The third entry into the Dragon Age series (I actually liked the second game better than the first). I am not sure about this one as I couldn't tell much from the presentation. I probably won't get it (unless it becomes cheap at some point). Content set to premier first on Xbox One. Release date October 7, 2014
* Sunset Overdrive (EXC) : I liked the intro where it was a bunch of stereotypical dark shooter type people and then a more colorful character came in and showed the game to be colorful. This one almost looks interesting to me (despite being a shooter). There seem to be some insane guns and colorful levels. Release Date: October 28, 2014 *
* Dead Rising 3 DLC: This one looked interesting as a stand alone "arcade game", but it turns out it is just DLC (again why announce DLC at E3)? The name: Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Remix Hyper Edition DX Plus Alpha.
* Fantasia: Music Evolved - a rhythm game from Harmonix
* Dance Central Spotlight: a digital download only game. I wonder how this one is going to work.
* Fable Legends: this game kind of looks worse to me. I'm worried about the single player experience (as I hate, what do you call them, people). The multiplayer beta starts later this year (probably Q4)
* Project Spark: this is still an interesting idea (content creation) and they montaged (you have to have a montage) some of the things people did with it. Some of that looked interesting.
* Ori and the Blind Forest: one of the more interesting games to me. It seems to be a 2D platformer (I'm thinking it is probably downloadable: like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood last E3). This is one of the games I will be keeping an eye on (I think it releases this year) *
* Halo Master Chief Collection: Halos 1-4 for the Xbox One @ $59.99. I thought this would be more. I kind of have shooter fatigue, but I may get this. Apparently this game comes with 4,000 Gamerscore and gives access to a 5 episode Halo digital series produced by Ridley Scott (also beta access to Halo 5) *
* Halo 5: coming sometime in 2015 (I'm thinking November-ish).
The 2015 and later section:
* Inside - probably a downloadable title from the studio that brought you Limbo. Coming first to Xbox
* ID Xbox Montage:
Aztez, Forced,
Knight Squad (looks to be inspired by Gauntlet),
White Night
Spectra
Cuphead (could be interesting) *
Hyper Light Drifter
Divekick (a fighting game)
Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time
Below
Slash Dash
Mighty No Nine (from the Mega Man creator, pretty much MegaMan)
Grave
Threes
Chariot (looks to be a 2d platformer, may be interesting, need to see more on it) *
Woolfe (looks kind of interesting, another 2D platformer?) *
IDARB
Another World
Hellraid (looks like a hack n slash - kind of interesting) *
Plague Inc Evolved
There Came an Echo (looks to be a shooter)
Source
Guacamelee (another game that looks like a 2D platformer)
Racing Game by Bongfish (can't read the name, it's too small on the logo)
FRU - (a game where you can alter the camera with Kinect, 2D Platformer) *
Wulver Blade - a hack n slash game, looks interesting *
QUBE
Pure Pool
Habitat
Earthlock Festival of Magic - *
Roundabout
The Golf Club
Lifeless Planet
Siegecraft Commander (a RTS?)
Riptide GP 2
Fenix Rage ( 2D platformer?)
* Rise of the Tomb Raider:
* Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: not sure about Witcher in a open world (hopefully the command scheme works better than Witcher 2) - i'll probably get this game when it comes out: February 24, 2015
* Phantom Dust: an original Xbox game that I never played going to the Xbox One. I know nothing about this game
* Tom Clancy's The Division: yet another shooter. New content first on Xbox One
* Scalebound: an action title by Platinum Games with dragons and other beasts. Kind of need to see more of this one
* Crackdown: a Crackdown game on the Xbox One (now with more cloud stuff).
