So here I am again, I guess I should post every once in a while. So, what have I been thinking about this weak week? One more week until I get to try out Kinect Sports Rivals (I wonder what ever happened to D4).
$20 Downloadable titles
I was ok with the Xbox 360's downloads with $5 and $10 prices at the start (or 400 and 800 points - I really, really miss the points system it was so much better than the current system). I kind of scoffed at the $15 (1,200 point) price point. So, how do you think I feel about the Xbox One having games priced at $20?
Ok, so I am not a fan. I would go so far to say that I will not be buying any more games at $20 (PowerStar Golf and Killer Instinct already purchased). I really dislike the $15 price point too, but what can you do? I realize that cost is a function of cost and expected sales volume - that being said, I'm not too sure that $20 is justified (especially since the content is probably going to be on sale in less than 6 months and who knows what will happen with Games With Gold on Xbox One).
Exceptions (I wish, I could get):
So, what games would I be willing to pay $20 each more readily? Original Xbox games (720P and widescreen and achievements) ported to the Xbox One. I know it won't likely happen, but I would like to get some of these as stand alone downloadable games (I traded in my original Xbox and all my games for the 360)....
* Voodoo Vince
* Blinx 1 & 2 ($30 for both would be Ok)
* Sudeki (apparently available on Steam if you like that sort of thing)
* Azurik
* Brute Force
* Fable (wait, I have Anniversary - maybe not)
* Grabbed by the Ghoulies
* NightCaster 1&2
* Conker
* Crismson Skies (though I suck at it)
* BloodWake (though I suck at it)
* Phantom Dust (never played it)
* Non-1st party Xbox games
* Too Human (downloadable 2,3)
* Banjo-Kazooie (collect-a-thon) real platformer - not vehicles (hopefully)
* Kinect Adventures 2
* Some of the Xbox 360 Kinect games ported to 360 (Sports 1,2, Adventures, Fable Journey, etc)
* Lunar
* "older" RPGs ported (Star Ocean, Tales games, Grandia, etc)
Other Xbox One Stuff:
The stand-by mode kind of sucks. I get the feeling that the more you leave it in that mode, the more potential problems crop up. I would recommend keeping it in power saving mode.
There should be a "check for updates" part in settings where you can manually check. I'm not sure if it only detects in stand-by mode.
