The launch of the Xbox One is looming (less than 18 days now). This caused me to reflect back on previous Xboxes. What were my launch titles, etc. How is it possible that this will be my third different MSFT console - I will have purchased all three consoles in different states (in fact, different time zones)?
Xbox:
* Got: November 15, 2001 (no early opening or anything)
* Launch Games:
- Halo: Combat Evolved
- Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
- NFL Fever 2002
- Shrek
Other Games (not sure if I got Dead or Alive 3 at launch or not, I got Project Gotham racing within a month of launch) I had (i'm sure there were others too):
- Amped
- Arx Fatalis
- Azurik Rise of Perathia (I actually liked this game)
- The Bard's Tale
- Blinx: The Time Sweeper
- Blood Wake
- Brute Force
- Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
- Dead or Alive 3
- Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Fable (anniversary got delayed until next year, too bad)
- Forza Motorsports (not a fan of the original "drivatar")
- Futurama (I think)
- Halo 2
- Jade Empire
- NightCaster
- Project Gotham Racing
- Rallisport Challenge
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Sudeki
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
- Tork: Pre-Historic Punk
I picked up the first console on launch day (November 15, 2001) at a now defunct store called Media Play outside of Cincinnati, OH. My console was named Penguin (might have mixed it up with my alleged brother's console at launch. The "Duke" is actually one of my favorite controllers of all time. I bought a lot of exclusives for that machine - i'm still hoping for a Voodoo Vince Kinect game (that would be awesome). In fact, there are at least 10 original Xbox games I would like to see on the Xbox One somehow.
The Xbox is one of my favorite consoles of all time, despite it's "dirty disk error" messages. There is a part of me that wishes that I didn't trade in the console and all of my games for an Xbox 360.
